Hiking: Saddle Mountain, the highest point in the Coast Range (3283 feet),
2.5 miles, the hike is steep, rugged and not for casual hikers.
Trailhead is at Saddle Mountain State Park, 20 miles east on Hwy 101.
Great vistas and views of surrounding Mountains, lots of birds, wildlife and
indigenous plant life.

Tillamook Head, (@ 1000 feet), @ 8 mile hike to Indian Beach.
Moderate hike through Ecola State Park from
Seaside trailhead to Indian Beach, Cannon Beach. Corps of Discovery hiked
part of this trail to locate beached whale at Indian Beach, they arrived to late
and eventually traded with the Clatsop people for whale blubber.
